HostReach Forums rules and guidelines

Below lists the rules and guidelines for this forum. Without rules chaos invariably follows, which is why we take them very seriously, and expect every member to adhere to them:

• Always exercise common courtesy and respect for your fellow members when posting. In other words, treat others as you would like to be treated. Rude, demeaning, or insulting comments have no place here, neither do members posting them.

• No advertising or self promotion of ANY kind allowed (except in Host Marketplace forums*). HostReach.com is a place where people come together to get advice on web hosting, stay informed on questionable hosts, and seek help on managing their servers. It is NOT the classifieds. Members with commercial interests such as web hosts are certainly welcome to participate and contribute to the discussions, but must do so without plugging their own services. Specifically, as a member you agree to the following with regards to no advertising:

• 1) You may not promote or plug your site/services in any form when posting or responding. This includes but is not limited to posting your site's link, soliciting members to try out your services, or critique your products against a competitor's.
• 2) You may not initiate a thread that in any way attempts to redirect traffic to your site or services. Often times such threads are disguised as "seeking advise on what you think of my company/particular product offering." or of the likes. Nice try, but a wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf.
• 3) You may not initiate threads of glowing or bashful reviews of a particular host unless you are prepared to back up your claims. Sometimes a web host may attempt to sign in as a different member to manipulate public opinion on either their services, or their competitors'. We will find you out (and make sure all members on this forum do too)!
• 4) Bottom line, do NOT plug or promote your site/services in any shape or form when posting.

The above rules apply to PM (private messaging) posting as well.

• Signature rules- HostReach allows members to attach a signature to the end of their posts. Signature must be 4 lines or less, maximum of 1 URL, and cannot contain specific hosting plans or solicitations. Also, HTML is disabled.

• Host Marketplace specific rules- Forums located under the Host Marketplace category are the ONLY places within Hostreach where advertising is permitted. It is created mainly for the benefit of regular members looking for specific hosting packages/needs, and privilege to web hosting companies. Follow the below rules when posting in this forum: 

• 1) Rule(s) for the forum "Web hosting special offers"- As a web host you are entitled to a maximum of 1 post/week publicizing a special package offering to HostReach members. You may NOT post the exact same offer week after week. You also may NOT bump (reply to) your own thread with no reason other than to bring it to the top of the listings.
• 2) Rule(s) for the forum "Web hosting requests"- This forum allows members to post their specific hosting requests, and for other members and web hosts to respond to and attempt to accommodate. As a web host you may contact the poster either by replying to the thread, or the use of the Email/PM function of our forum. No harassment or hard sales pitching will be tolerated.
